To Pentire Partnership's Leadership and Management training for existing and future leaders and managers in Third Sector organisations that can lead, on successful completion of the learning outcomes, to a BTEC Professional qualification. The qualifications, the only ones of their kind for the charity/ voluntary sector, are exclusive to the Pentire Partnership. We are accredited and audited by the UK's largest awarding organisation, Edexcel, to help us maintain our academic standards and service to you. In addition, we also provide a Guaranteed Membership Scheme via the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) enabling assessed members to use the appropriate letters after their name including MCMI for those completing the prestigious Diploma in Voluntary Sector Management.
Why have we created the qualifications?
The sector, indeed every sector, is awash with unaccredited training that varies in quality and consistency. We are passionate about the voluntary sector and its role in society and believe organisations of all types and size need to invest in their people at every level, volunteers and staff alike, to support the needs of the organisation in delivering services to beneficiaries and service users. Constant change, resource constraints, more competition for voluntary donations, a greater emphasis on generating service income and many other challenges means that all organisations need to have trained and knowledgeable staff to make the most of their financial, physical and human resources with subsidy management and sustainability major issues for many charities. To help individuals and organisations, therefore, we have created a suite of learning and development modules that can lead to any one of seven qualifications which are themed around the relevant functions within the sector including operational management; fundraising, finance and involving volunteers/ HR. Each qualification also contains leadership and governance as well as ensuring your own personal development.
Most importantly, the qualifications and training are based on the latest national occupational standards (NOS) in leadership and management to ensure, relevance, currency and consistency for learners, their organisations and the beneficiaries and service users they serve. So, whether you wish to attend a standalone workshop to improve your knowledge or use it as part of a qualification either now or at some point in the future, you have that choice. Where we are...
We are based in Peterborough close to the cities of the East Midlands and Easten Counties and within one hour's commute from London via the main East Coast route. Peterborough also benefits from direct rail links with virtually all major towns and cities and is within one hour of Stansted airport. Workshops are run close to the city centre, within easy walking distance of the railway station. Peterborough also lies at the confluence of a number of A routes, including the A1M, providing excellent road links with reasonably priced, secure, parking close by.

The Pentire Partnership also facilitates Action Learning Workshops. Effectively facilitated, Action Learning is one of the most powerful and cost effective management tools available and is used for solving individual management issues or challenges facing whole organisations. Action Learning can, therefore, help you identify and address issues cost effectively or identify other training needs leading to a qualification to demonstrate up to date knowledge and competency for those completing them - with the added bonus of professional recognition from Edexcel and CMI!
